Joining our faculty as Music teacher and Development Director will be Mrs. Anita Sleeman. A graduate of St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana, she comes to Our Lady of the Rosary after serving as the founding Fine Arts Department Chair at St. Joseph’s Catholic School.
While there, she produced, directed, and staged over twenty-five shows including musicals, full-length dramas, and one-act plays. She directed the school’s chorus, instrumental ensemble, and handbell choir.
In 2005, Mrs. Sleeman was named by the SC Theatre Association as the South Carolina Secondary Theatre Teacher of the Year. This summer, she will take over as the SC Chapter Director for the Educational Theatre Association,
the nation’s premiere organization for theatre education professionals, and will serve a four-year term. In June, she will guest direct for the SC Children’s Theatre production of Stuart Little and will be guest directing their
production of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland late next spring, as well.
Mrs. Sleeman has many exciting ideas for our school including a summer drama production, children’s hand bell, drama club, and after school enrichment classes, as well as ideas for a student choir, the Christmas production, and Talent Show.
She will also serve as development director and assist with the marketing and growth of our school. Mrs. Sleeman has been instrumental in fundraising efforts for the fine arts program at St. Joseph’s, building an arts guild, securing grant money,
and hosting an annual fundraising dinner.

OLR School has been accepted into the Carolina Middle School Athletic League. We are excited about this opportunity and are hopeful that our middle school students will enjoy this opportunity to compete against students from
St. Mary’s, St. Joseph’s, and other Christian middle schools in the area.
